Giving Tuesday 2023: Basildon Town FC and Screwball Rally Sponsorship Spotlight.

Continuing RJS Waste Management’s commitment to local communities, for Giving Tuesday 2023 we’re celebrating new sponsorships in Essex and Hampshire. Not only did we support our clients taking part in the Screwball Rally but we’re also backing yet another youth sports team.

Supporting Screwball Rally for Giving Tuesday 2023

This September, we were a main sponsor for the Veterans and Friends Screwball Rally team. This was made up of some of our MoD clients, for whom we provide hazardous waste removal services.

Armed Forces veterans Andy Painting and Mark Powell (Royal Navy), along with David England, piled into a car worth no more than £1000 and they were off through Europe…

Veterans and Friends drove the five-day rally with around 50 other old bangers and whacky racers. Taking a route through France, Belgium, Holland, Germany and Denmark, they racked up around 1,500 miles –– including pit stops, detours, and repairs!

Putting the FUN into FUNdraising, they also totted up thousands of pounds for the following charities:

Jacob’s Well Care Centre

We Remember Submariners

Veterans Outreach Support (VOS)

As of November, the Veterans and Friends raised £1,775 (59% of their target). Why don’t you donate for Giving Tuesday 2023 and help support these fantastic causes?

Supporting Basildon Town FC U17s for Giving Tuesday 2023

Always keen to support local community youth projects and sports teams close to the RJS Waste Management offices, we’re sponsoring Basildon Town FC U17s this year.

Based in Essex, near our London office, these young up-and-comers are in the premier division of the Southend & District Junior Sunday Football League. They’re also part of Basildon’s oldest Football Club, founded in 1946, which are members of the Eastern Counties League Division One South.

The Basildon boys join a squad of community youth and fitness initiatives we’ve supported. Oxford Rising Stars is a team that focuses on developing ice hockey in Oxfordshire while Hampshire’s Suki Aerobic Gymnastics Club attracts young people of all levels.

See the photos below of the boys sporting their new jerseys, with RJS Waste Management logos on their sleeves. Pure class! Here’s wishing them the very best of luck for the coming season.

Helping you in more ways than one…
