Meet Your New Midlands Asbestos Surveyor.

It’s time to meet your Midlands asbestos surveyor and contracts manager, Dan Edge. Dan’s based at our new Midlands office in Stoke-on-Trent and is bringing waste management services even closer to you…

A shout-out for health and safety

After 24 years’ service as a telecommunications specialist, Dan’s dialling into a new challenge with RJS Waste Management as our Midlands contracts manager.

Dan also joins our team of British Occupational Hygiene Society (BOHS) qualified P402 asbestos surveyors.

According to BOHS, asbestos surveyors ensure buildings are safe for occupational use.

Following the Control of Asbestos Regulations (CAR) 2012, Regulation 4, they can identify and record where asbestos is and if it’s likely to be disturbed. Then, assess the building material to determine whether it’s hazardous.

A P402 asbestos surveyor is also useful if you’re planning refurbishment and demolition works. They can identify any asbestos within the area of the proposed works so it can removed safely.

Of course, our new Midlands asbestos surveyor’s skills will complement our other highly recommended Midlands asbestos services:

Over 10 years of risk assessment experience has prepared Dan to provide a professional asbestos survey service that will help keep you safe. And this people-first focus aligns with our ISO 45001-certified company ethos.

The photo below shows RJS Waste Management’s three directors — Jonathan Gotham (Operations Director), Russell Shrives (Managing Director) and Tony Wells (Sales Director) — holding our ISO 14001, ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 certificates.

Why has Dan joined the RJS Waste Management team?

Dan’s career success is based on his ability to liaise closely with the public and private sectors. With a can-do attitude, he’ll ensure your waste management needs are met.

When we asked Dan why he’s left behind the techy world of telecommunications for hazardous waste management, he said:

“The waste management industry excites me as it’s another growing sector. RJS Waste is a well-run, close-knit business that’s clearly going places.

“I want to be part of this fantastic opportunity and journey. I believe my past experiences and the skills I’ve achieved will help the Midlands office flourish.”

You can find out more about Dan in our recent announcement email. If you didn’t receive this email and you’re a Midlands business — or located near one of our other offices — you can sign up here.
